The Story of Olayemi

Olayemi Jewellery is a contemporary fusion of West African artisanal heritage and bohemian free-spiritedness. Based in our London studio, we create intentional, unique pieces that bridge the gap between ancestral tradition and modern, life.

Our aesthetic is what we call Boho-Afrique: a celebration of raw, organic materials such as raw brass and earth toned gemstones, structured into bold silhouettes that honor cultural identity. We don't believe in fast fashion; we believe in "talismans", pieces that ground you and tell a story of where you’ve been and where you are going.

Hand-Forged in London

Every piece of Olayemi Jewellery is handmade by Jess, a self-taught jeweller from a Sierra Leonean background. What started as an exploration of beads and gemstones in 2017 evolved into a passion for metalsmithing and the raw beauty of brass.

In a world of mass production, we choose the "slow path." We embrace the hammer marks, the natural oxidation of metals, and the slight variations that make every ring, necklace, and anklet one-of-a-kind. When you wear Olayemi, you are wearing the trace of the maker’s hand.
